The Hudson River school was founded around 1825 as an art school. It's main purpose was to educate people about art and train successful artists. It mainly worked with paintings and most of its paintings were of places in America which showed the school was nationalist. This was unlike most other art at the time because it was more about the nature landscape instead of town landscape. The school was obviously by a river which also shows the type of art they chose to make. Usually the art chosen was of the outdoors. This was important during the time because it helped spread art around and taught people how to become better artists.
